There are many tools to burn an iso to a usb. But I do have some requirements :

  • fast
  • simple
  • kiss (keep it simple and stupid)
  • reliable
  • graphical

When creating Sardi icons and Surfn icons I have burned all these iso’s of this list on a usb WITHOUT FAULT.

So I trust this tool 100%.

Install it using packer or another AUR helper.

packer mintstick

Burn an iso to a usb by typing in this code in the terminal

mintstick -m iso

Format a usb by typing in this code in the terminal

mintstick -m format

I know it sounds strange but install it again when you get the error and it will be installed…

The maintainer needs to fix this. Situation at the end of May 2017.

Etcher

Etcher from https://etcher.io/ can be an alternative application to burn an iso to the usb. You do NOT need to download it from the website.

Golden rule : check first if it is on AUR via packer

packer etcher

In the tutorial we install etcher with packer. We do check if it is mentioned in gnome-software.
Then we take a look at the PKGBUILD and burn an iso to the usb.
