Whenever there is a new kernel coming out, I will go to this github https://github.com/erikdubois/Ultimate-Linux-Mint-18-Cinnamon and add a script for the new kernel.

At this address you will find all the kernels you will ever need:

http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/

Look for the latest stable one and give it a go.

The result of the script.

kernel-4-7-5

Uninstalling a kernel we will not be using any more

Since we just installed the latest kernel and everything seem to work fine, we can get rid of the old kernel.

Two ways to get rid of the kernel : terminal and update manager.
